This is a continuation of the discussion found here. All involved are currently discussing Baam's power, current and potential.
The question really is asking whether Baam has the potential to defeat a Ranker whilst still a Regular.

I'm sure Demotivator Eternet and Tonysansnom will say something along the lines of "well world destroying power doesn't necessarily make him op, you have to be able to destroy galaxies before you can challenge the likes of Arie and Urek. Lol. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

BOOOM There it is
Hey I've become a firm advocate of the "measure "in an "irregular" referencial. Yeah compared to" regulars", hence Evan's usual pronostics, Baam is a Monster. However compared to other Irregulars, not so much. Zahard and 10 Warriors did learn consistantly revolution and shinsoo control with GoG, and Urek was already stronger than GoG when he met him. So what would this make of Urek, if Baam is OP ? And you still have Zahard and Enryu above Urek. And None of them did go through the 135th floor test.
So there's a point calling Baam OP compared to regulars (which has been made since the 2nd floor, and even afterwards we discovered Baam's shinsoo resistance is better than High-Rankers anyway in the freaking Headon's test !!!), I admited it long ago. However compared to Irregulars, not so much yet, and furthermore compared to the purpose of the Tower or Tower of God, it seems Baam is kinda middle level, if not late (he found it fundamentally impossible to grasp the skill), and no regular is up to the task.
Oh and yeah, Baam almost died to make "one baang" of Irregualr shinsoo control, he's really a "baby!"get hype in two chapters ;)
Oh and : Eff, I somehow realize you're in spoilers teritory boy !
No one denied that Baam is a monster. People just tend to exaggerate his current actual power.
Evan being scared and easily impressed by everything he sees doesn't help. I'm not telling that what he says on Baam is false, but he's made to be the opposite of Yuri, who isn't impressed by anyone to make their duo as cool as it is.
I do not think Baam will enter God Mode Sue (to bring it back) cause he surrounds him with powerul allies. The biggest fights are for them (heyo Mazino, Yuri).
Moreover, this FOD arc will certainly be without games, that's a shame. The game "Go to Hell" was so good, full of symbolism ! But till the Dallar Show and Go to Hell, the tests were not that interesting. One thing that could slow Baam's growth could be SIU putting more complex games. It would bring back our cunning Khun A.A !
What I'm saying could be considered off limits on this topic, but making more interesting games instead of shonen-like arcs could make us readers focus on another thing that pure strenght. Not that this last arc beginning is bad, but he'll certainly have this default.
And finally, I don't see Baam fighting the 10 Family Heads soon, nor ever. I mean, Baam is used by FUG but his goal isn't FUG's. It might be more likely for him to fight FUG itself (aah, I wouldn't like to be beaten up by my cute pupil though - old man speaking), like he's doing now, with the dissension occurring.
I feel that Baam probably will be able to take on Rankers before becoming one.
I don't think Rankers just suddenly get powerful once they reach floor 136 or whatever the top one was. The reason they're all so strong is because you pretty much have to be a badass to get that far, and even the badasses that do get stronger along the way.
Baam's definitely powerful enough to be a potential Ranker, and as he climbs the Tower he'll get closer and closer to being able to take on a full-powered Ranker (Quant and Love were both holding back IIRC). Probably by around floor 70 he'll be able to beat a below-average ranker.
You've got to remember, though, that Rankers vary wildly in strength. So while Baam will probably be able to beat a Ranker before he becomes one, an enemy like Karaka or Urek Mazino will probably be too much for him until he reaches the top floor himself.
I don't see that coming soon, since story-wise, it would be a complete waste. And we all know that SIU is not the kind of man to ruin his story just to give a shonen vibe to ToG (and thank God Rachel is here to avoid that.. - that's for Rachel haters btw).
We don't know what'll happen when Baam and Cie will be on the 70th floor, but I don't see rankers meddling directly with him. It depends on the context. If it's well done, then why not, but if it's just to give a shonen vibe, no, just no. A more symbolic event would be Baam winning against a ranker in a game (what he almost managed with Love). Games >>>>> Fights
At Floor 100 or so he will probably manage to be at the level of a Ranker in my opinion, I also agree that 70 is too soon for Baam to take on a Ranker maybe, just maybe, however he will have some sort ultimate attack at that point in time that will allow him to beat one I mean his new technique seems to be building up to become exactly that.
I understand that this is already an 4 year old discussion with the last comment itself being 2years old, but seeing the battle with the data of young jahad and at the last station I still can't decide if baam is capable of defeating an ranker.(without black March)
