The Serpent Master (갯뱀, Gaesbaem) is a prisoner of Lo Po Bia Traumerei and is kept inside the dark Fishbowl in the form of a massive room.[1] He is the main antagonist of The Marriage Competition Arc.
The Serpent Master is a creature made up of many small white snake, with red eyes and mouth. These snake form into a humanoid form with bright red eyes.
He cares deeply about Lo Po Bia Laura and is willing to go to great lengths to save her.[2]
As shown, the Serpent Master harbors strong paternal feelings towards Laura’s daughters. As shown where he was willing to follow Lilial’s orders after learning of her identity and later did the same for Shilial. The Serpent Master himself actively protected them from harm during their escape from the Lo Po Bia Mothership.
History[]
In the past, the Serpent Master was a Thread Snake who lived in a dark swamp marshland prior to being discovered by Lo Po Bia Traumerei. After being found by him, he was collected and stored in a specialized fishbowl in the Lo Po Bia Family Mothership for a long time in near total isolation.
However, one day he was approached by Lo Po Bia Laura. Laura had come to the Serpent Master in order to beg for his help, she had become pregnant with a child of the Lo Po Bia Family Head and needed to ensure that her child would be born with immense power, otherwise she and her branch family would be in danger. As noted by the Serpent Master, this was the first time he had ever seen a human woman before and upon laying his eyes upon Laura, he had begun developing romantic feelings for her for the first time in his life. While confused about this new development, The Serpent Master never the less agreed to help Laura, but was stomped as to how, as the child in her belly was still in the early stages of development. Pondering, The Serpent Master eventually figured out a way to do so and offered a way to empower Laura child under the condition that; “For the next ten days, if you even feel for a moment that you could love me, then come back to me”. Laura agreed and returned to him, unknowingly being observed by Traumerei. Later upon recieving news that Lilial was born, the Serpent Master stayed true to their agreement and began tearing out pieces of itself containing parts of his power to empower Laura’s child. However, Laura herself however chose to neglect revealing to the Serpent Master that she had given birth to twins and only informed him of Lilial’s birth. [3] Laura then proceeded to make the Serpent Master to agree to never show his face to her daughter, presumably when he was giving her pieces of himself to feed to “their” daughter. Promising to do so, Laura has since refrained from visiting the Serpent Master after her daughters became Zahard's Princesses. [4]
The Serpent Master was ordered by Lo Po Bia Kirin to attack all of the participants of the marriage tournament in order to save Laura and get his wish fulfilled by Traumerei.[1]
The Serpent Master arrived inside the Viridis Parus Hotel and snuck into the woman's bathroom as an intruder. There, he encountered one of the girl participant, Roku. The snake threatened to kill Roku if she didn't tell him where Laura was locked, but Roku chose to engaged and attack the snake. When Roku swung her sword, it did not cause any damage so she decided tried to run away. However, the Serpent Master was not going to let her go and caught Roku off guard by attacking her from the other side. Roku tried to block the strike but she was killed.[5] After killing Roku, the Serpent Master continued his rampage in the hotel and forced his way in to the room where Lilial's group gathered. Lilial created a single shinsu Baang and attacked the snake but it cause no damage. The snake managed to break through the door, causing everyone to panic and run away. The reporter, Ilnak Ropal tried to block the snake with her Lighthouse Barrier but she was killed too. As Lilial, Lo Po Bia Merr and Lo Po Bia Keoyeop run towards the exit door, Hwingya Epo and Flipa decided to seal the door for themselves, leaving everyone trapped inside. Flipa proceed to use her slime substance to seal the door. The snake charge and lunged towards Lilial in extreme speed, but the princess was able to dodge the attack, making the snakes obliterated the door, killing both Hwingya and Flipa at the same time. The snakes then continues to attack Lilial again and this time, Lilial flipped and threw Merr into the air, with the intention to sacrifice her. Twenty-Fifth Baam arrived just in time to stop the movement of the snakes with Reverse-Flow Control, saving Merr and everyone inside the room.[5]
The Serpent Master has a strong body durability that makes him immune to average physical attack. Slashing him with normal Sword will not cause any damage to his body or to the snakes.[5] He is also very quick and agile because all the snakes on his body are "slippery".

Snakes: As shown, the Serpent Master is a being consisting of hundreds of serpents possessing a singular mind. As shown, the Serpent Master primarily uses his unique physiology to fight by having his snakes surround, corner, strangle and maul his targets to death. Due to him also being made form hundreds of snakes, he also possess the ability to easily slip past the conventional defenses of a building, having entered the Viridis Parus Hotel by slipping through the Hotel’s sewage system and piplines. As one of the Thread Snake race, the Serpent Master possess the ability to live forever and amass power by continously molting and dividing itself into more snakes every year, eventually becoming the current, huge mass of serpents. Each of the Snake’s are stated to possess a fraction of his power and if one were to devour a small piece of him, they would successfully absorb his power and become stronger, provided they successfuly overcome his poison or are immune to it.[6]
Spikes
Snake Poison: As stated by him, the snakes his body consists of possess an extremely deadly snake poison that if ingested, will instantly kill the recipient.[6]
Compression: The Serpent Master has shown the ability to compress his body into a smaller compact form if needed to be less suspiciously.
Weapon Forms: Using the serpents of his body, the Serpent Master can shapeshift his body to form weapons to use in battle. As shown in his fight with Twenty-Fifth Baam, he was able to form several spikes in his “arms” to fight against him. [7]
The Serpent Master looks quite similar to Snake Charmer, but they do not seem to be the same person. They may be somehow related or are from the same race.
Shilial has theorized that out of the two of them, the chances of her being the biological daughter of The Serpent Master is the most likely. [8] Given her differing physical features from her mother and her husband, its highly possible that she is indeed the Serpent’s Master’s child.
