Lo Po Bia Kirin (로 포 비아 기린, Lo Po Bia Kirin) is the Chief Taming Commander within the Lo Po Bia Army ranks. He is a High Ranker. He is the second oldest son of Lo Po Bia Traumerei.^[4]

Appearance and Personality[]

Kirin is a large and muscular red-skinned humanoid, with pointy ears and a pair of black feathered wings on his back. His hair is pointy and silver, with two black stripes on each side that makes it look like a pair of horns.

As shown, Kirin is one of the highest ranking members of the Lo Po Bia Family and is implied to be the one who mainly handles its day to day affairs and manages its various Branch Families. Due to this, Kirin has shown to be a skilled leader and has showcased to handle his duties with clamness, intelligence and precision, as shown where he maintains a cool head while dealing with internal conflicts among the branch families and analyzes the situation before making a final decision and deciding a course of action. As shown from the event of Gustang's Ambush on the Lo Po Bia Family Mothership, even amidist such a crisis, Kirin managed to maintain his composure despite the non existent odds of the Lo Po Bia Family surviving Lord Gustang's attack without the presence of Traumerei.

Kirin has also been shown to be loyal to Lo Po Bia Traumerei, the Family Head of the Lo Po Bia Family, and always makes sure to prostrate himself, always bowing down his head before the Lord, in his great presence, even when Kirin chooses to contact him in his throne room via video call on digital screen. As shown, Kirin follows Traumerei’s orders to the letter and fulfills his orders as his top priorities when given, even if some of the orders he gives is something he personally does not agree with.

Due to his position, Kirin is also noted to be one of the few who frequently communicates with the Family Heads, as shown where he is one of the few who can speak with them directly and is privy to some of the more personal matters of his family’s Head.

Later however, it would be revealed that Kirin is in fact betraying his Family Head and is actively working to subvert him. As stated by Lo Po Bia Laura, Kirin takes full advantage of Lo Po Bia Traumerei’s closed off personality to essentially run the Lo Po Bia Family as he sees fit and abuses the authority and power his position gives him to pursue his own agenda. Further evidence is seen where it was confirmed that he was secretly working with the faction who call themselves the "Revolution" group and is planning a revolt against his Family Head.

This betrayal is later revealed due to how disillusioned Kirin had became with Traumerei: As he himself stated, similar to Lo Po Bia Lobadon, Kirin was once very loyal to the Family Head and believed that he loved and cared for him and the rest of his siblings as their father. However, over time, Kirin realized that any love Traumerei once had for him or any of his siblings had faded and would never return again, causing him to believe it was foolish and stupid of any member of the family to ever hope to expect any form of genuine paternal love and affection from Traumerei the way he is now. Due to this, Kirin no longer even considers Traumerei as his father, having completely disowned him due to growing bitter at how unloving and uncaring Traumerei had became, choosing to work to take his place as the Lo Po Bia Family Head by using the Revolution. ^[5]

Kirin is one of Lo Po Bia Traumerei‘s firstborn children (implied to be his second born son) and one of his oldest living descendants. ^[6]As Kirin his status as one of his oldest children, Kirin is one of the core members of the Lo Po Bia Family and is the one who actually runs it and manages its day to day activities and operations. Due to Traumerei’s distant and closed off personality, Kirin has immense influence over the family, and runs it as he sees fit due to his father’s general disinterest in everything going on outisde his room.

Kirin in the past is holding an audience with a lower member of the family, who requested help in an interfamily conflict between the two High Rankers, the branch leader Kukoko and the branch leader Ledodo. As both were considered to be extremelly talented members of the family and losing one would be a serious loss to them, Kirin is unsure of what to do. But when Yasratcha suggests to kill them both, The Family Head unexpectidly agrees with him. Kirin is initially confused as to why Traumerei would take a interest in such a lowly matter, but as it is his orders, he agrees to it and takes on the task of killing them both himself.

Power and Abilities[]

Like all trainers in Lo Po Bia's Army he is an Anima and can control both Shinheuh and Beastkin.^[7] As stated by Ha Yuri Zahard, Kirin is one of the Lo Po Bia Family’s strongest, being one of Lo Po Bia Traumerei’s oldest surviving sons.^[8]

Kirin, like a majority of his family, has displayed to have the talent to command and control Shinheuh animals/creatures to follows his commands and fight alongside him. And being a chief tamer means he could also mind control the Beastkin like Lo Po Bia Faitz who also has the same job and much lower than Kirin.

Haetae[]

Kirin in particular was given one of his father’s most powerful animals in acknowledgment of Kirin’s strength and power as one of his oldest sons, the Haetae. As stated by Po Bidau Tiara, the Haetae was one of Traumerei’s special shinheuh, possessing unique powers that makes it extremelly formidable to fight against even for High Rankers. As stated by Tiara, the Haetae can produce smoke capable of melting the flesh of High Rankers.^[8]

Notes and Trivia[]

Kirin is the general manager of the Lo Po Bia family, as he is sought out when there are conflicts within the family and he is stated to be the true authority in handling its internal affairs. As part of his job, Kirin enjoys numerous benefits not afforded to even the other high ranked members of their family.
- Due to his position, Kirin is one of the few who can speak directly with Traumerei and knows at least several sensitive secrets about him. As shown where he was able to talk to Traumerei regarding Leviathan and knew the true importance of the Beast to Traumerei.
- As stated by Lo Po Bia Zamzam, only Kirin has the necessary clearance and personal permission of their Family Head to contact him while he is in his room.
- As the general manager of the Lo Po Bia Family, Kirin holds a gigantic amount of sway and power over not only the politics of his family, but also to the rest of the tower. As stated by Tiara, by the Lo Po Bia Family’s laws, harming Kirin, regardless of their position in the family - even a member of the other Great Families - or reason for attacking him, will result in them being immediately executed.^[8]
- Kirin also has his own private squadron from the Lo Po Bia's Army, of which he has sole control and command over. As shown, his personal forces do not need anyone else’s permission from the Lo Po Bia Army to be deployed and can act independently from the rest of their forces if Kirin commands it. As shown, Kirin’s forces are considered formidable and even have former Branch Heads of the Lo Po Bia Family, who had been demoted or removed from their original position, are members.
