Gatekeepers 43th floor

Hockney explains the Gatekeeper's system.

But over time, as more and more people wanted to escape, Grand De Jah and Grand De Sah changed their minds. They captured everyone who opposed them or tried to escape and used the "Soul-Stirring Ladle" to transfer their souls into little dolls or gigantic parasites. They called them "The Leech Guardians"

Leech Guardians (리치 가디언, Lichi Gadieon)[1] also referred to as "Gatekeepers" (문지기라, Munjigila) by David Hockney[2] are series of Shinheuh bugs or Parasites that were "preserved". They are immortal creatures and cannot die. They don't have souls. Their souls were "harvested/collected" using the special item "Soul-Stirring Ladle". This was engineered by the Grand Family to create a complex security system to protect the Floor of Death from outside intruders.[2]

About[]

Different kinds of monsters will prevent outsiders from entering the Floor of Death. Among them, those are classified as:

  1. Watchmen (example: Yuliu Mata who controlled leech humanoid creature he called "Manyleg")
  2. Eye Bugs; many can be found inside the Hell Joe's Red Castle.
  3. Stag Beetles; most common creatures in the Floor of Death, they can be found in all area.

Gatekeepers are divided into a systematic legion of Watchmen, Eye Bugs, and Stag Beetles. When a Watchmen gets killed, the "light bulb" inside it comes out to buy time for the Eye-Bugs to pinpoint the location of the intruders, which then calls the Stag Beetles to the enemies’ location. All of them don’t have souls, thus they are unable to die ("immortal") no matter how much an individual attack them.

Eventually, should an intruder reach the hall of the Floor of Death, which grants access to the inner part of the Floor of Death, one must offer his or her soul to the "High-Leech Monk".
